Products & Technology
Our water-based formulations create an antimicrobial layer on hands and surfaces. Once dry, Zoono forms a layer of microscopic pins that attract and pierce pathogens — the same principle as a pin popping a balloon. It is designed to complement routine hand washing and surface cleaning.
Our products are made from 99% deionised water and 1% active ingredient — a Quaternary Ammonium Compound (QAC). QAC is derived from a molecule of sand which goes through a synthetic process to activate it. Our products do not contain alcohol, phenoxyethanol, triclosan, or fragrance.
Zoono can be used on surfaces throughout the home. Follow the instructions on the label — apply after your regular cleaning routine on clean, dry surfaces and allow approximately 10 minutes for drying. Zoono is designed to complement routine cleaning habits.
Zoono has a toxicity rating similar to that of Vitamin C. It can be safely used around people, pets, and plants. Our hand sanitiser has been dermatologically tested in Germany across a range of skin types with zero reactions recorded.
Yes. Because it is free from alcohol and other harsh ingredients, you can use the Surface Sanitiser Spray on toys. Clean the toys first, then spray and let it dry completely before use.
No. Unlike alcohol-based hand sanitisers that can remove natural oils and dry the skin, Zoono's hand sanitiser is a mild, non-alcohol formulation. On application, it leaves hands soft and smooth.
Yes. Once Zoono has bonded to the skin, an application of alcohol-based sanitiser will not affect its performance.

ZOONO XTEND is an antimicrobial coating designed for food packaging. It uses the same core Zoono technology, developed in partnership with OSY Group, to help slow the microbial degradation of fresh produce — helping extend shelf life and reduce food waste.
Around 1.4 billion tonnes of food is wasted globally every year. ZOONO XTEND is designed to address this by coating food packaging surfaces with an antimicrobial layer that inhibits microorganism growth. Trials have demonstrated up to 40% shelf-life extension on certain produce types.
ZOONO XTEND has been developed for rigid and flexible fibre cartons, plastic punnets, corrugated board-based packaging, and various films. It is compliant with UK and EU Food Contact Material Regulations and does not migrate from packaging into the produce.
ZOONO XTEND is a B2B product supplied in totes for commercial food packaging operations. It is currently active across the UK, South Africa, and Australia with over 50 trial projects under way. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
Returns
If your item is faulty, it may be returned for a refund or exchange within 14 days of receiving your order, provided items are unopened and unused. Please note postage costs will not be refunded unless the goods are faulty or were sent in error. Zoono does not accept returns for opened or used items, unless the item is faulty. We cannot provide a refund for change of mind — please select your items carefully.
Qualifying refunds are processed via the same payment method you used. Credit card refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days (up to 15 days depending on your bank). PayPal refunds appear in your account immediately. You will receive a confirmation email once processed.
If you believe your parcel has been lost, please check the tracking details in your confirmation email and contact the courier company directly. If you still need help, get in touch with us.
You may return a faulty item for refund or exchange. Contact us and we will assist you through the process. If the item was faulty or sent in error, we will reimburse reasonable return postage costs with a receipt.
Within New Zealand, you can return items via any traceable courier service. Return postage is at your own cost unless the item is faulty. Please use a traceable service to ensure safe delivery. No, you can shop as a guest. We recommend signing up to our emails so we can let you know about special offers and new products.
Purchases on zoono.co.nz are charged in NZD. Make sure the New Zealand flag is selected in the currency options. Other supported currencies include AUD, GBP, HKD, PHP, and SGD.
You should receive a confirmation email as soon as your payment is processed. If you have not received one within a few hours, please check your junk or spam folder. If it's still missing, contact us and we will check your order.
